Through the Social Research Award, the Center seeks to encourage and motivate distin-guished researchers to study social issues of national priority, and to find solutions to the challenges facing Saudi society. Furthermore, the Social Research Award contributes to raise the quality of social research by honoring committed social researchers who contribute to monitoring and addressing social issues. These are done through the following objectives:

1. Encouraging researchers to conduct scientific research on social issues.
2. Encouraging specialized scientific research and studies on poverty and social justice issue.
3. Encouraging quality scientific research on women’s issues.
4. Encouraging research concerned with youth issues.
5. Encouraging scientific research on childhood issues.
6. Appreciating, and honoring distinguished researchers of both genders in the social sciences
7. Motivating private and governmental research agencies to achieve ex-cellency and creativity in the field of social research.
