Council Governance
- The Coordinating Council is composed of a Chairperson, who is the Director General of the National Center for Social Studies and Research, and a Vice-Chairperson and Secretary-General elected by the Council.
- Council members consist of directors of governmental and non-governmental research centers.
- Membership for research centers is granted after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Coordinating Council (or by submitting a membership application form), and the Council’s approval of the membership is required after signing a commitment to abide by the Council’s regulations and decisions.
- The Council meets at least twice a year or as needed, at a location determined by the Chairperson. The National Center for Social Studies and Research organizes the meetings, preparing an agenda for each meeting that is sent via email to all members at least ten days in advance.
- The Council forms a permanent Executive Committee, which studies all matters referred to it by the Chairperson and submits its recommendations, as well as implements the decisions made by the Council.
- The Coordinating Council also establishes smaller subcommittees to study important topics, which are then submitted to the Chairperson and presented to the members during the regular meetings.
