National Center for Social Studies
There is an awareness of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – of the necessity of paying attention to social affairs, maintaining and strengthening social values and principles, and challenges of new social phenomena to the family and society. Further there are rapid changes and transformations that the world is witnessing today affecting various aspects of social life. Cabinet Resolution No. (220) dated 7/7/1433 AH was issued approving the organization of the National Center for Social Studies. According to the first article of the Royal Decree, “The National Center for Social Studies and Research has an independent legal status, is directly linked to the Minister of Social Affairs and is based in the city of Riyadh.” The Center has been established to monitor, study and analyze phenomena that affect social and family affairs, and present solutions and recommendations to government through clear scientific research that can be used in policy-making.

A semi-annual, peer-reviewed electronic scientific journal issued by the National Center for Social Studies and Research. It focuses on publishing social research, studies, academic reviews, and scientific reports, targeting researchers interested in social issues within the Kingdom.
The National Center for Social Studies and Research has launched the Social Research Award to promote research and initiatives with a positive social impact. The award is held under the honorary chairmanship of the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development and supervised by the Director General of the Center.
