Establishment of the Coordinating Council for Social Research Centers

The Board of Directors of the National Center for Social Studies and Research, chaired by His Excellency Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, approved the establishment of the Coordinating Council for Social Research Centers. The Council is one of the Center's initiatives and supports its strategic objectives in communication and coordination with research centers in the social and development fields. Its key objectives include coordinating among entities concerned with social research, exchanging expertise and ideas, developing national social indicators and reports, proposing policies and procedures related to social affairs, and building an interactive database shared by participating centers and available to researchers. The Council is chaired by Prof. Dr. Sami bin Abdulaziz Al-Damgh, Director General of the Center, with a Vice Chairman and Secretary General elected by Council members from directors of government, private and charitable research centers. The first preparatory meeting of the Council was scheduled to be held remotely on Monday, 26/6/1442 AH, corresponding to 8/02/2021, at 10:30 a.m., with relevant centers and entities invited to participate.
