Minister of Social Affairs Inaugurates the New Headquarters of the National Center for Social Studies and Research

His Excellency Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Social Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Social Studies and Research, will inaugurate this evening the Center's new headquarters in Al-Rawdah District, Riyadh. Dr. Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al-Nassar, Director General of the Center, explained that the National Center for Social Studies and Research was established to conduct social studies and research on social issues, phenomena and problems in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to propose appropriate recommendations and solutions. Under its founding decision, the Center has an independent legal personality, is headquartered in Riyadh and is chaired by the Minister of Social Affairs. The Center conducts evaluation research to identify shortcomings in community programs, provides scientific and technical advisory services to the Ministry of Social Affairs and to public and private social institutions to improve services for beneficiaries, and organizes scientific seminars and workshops for specialists and those interested in social sciences in Saudi, Gulf and Arab societies. On this occasion, the Director General thanked Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi for his unlimited support, which played a major role in accelerating the establishment phase and facilitating distinguished scientific partnerships that support the Center's objectives. These include partnerships with the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Agency for Regional Affairs, the Crime Research Center, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control and the National Committee for Narcotics Control with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology to support social research and make use of specialized databases and with the Ministry of Education through Saudi universities, research deanships and specialized research centers to conduct research and monitor social issues and phenomena across the Kingdom. The Center is also building partnerships with international research centers specializing in social studies, supporting the developmental direction of the Ministry of Social Affairs through accurate information, research and scientific social monitoring.
