In line with the objectives of the National Center for Social Studies and Research, the first workshop of the national study on monitoring social issues, problems, needs and negative phenomena in society was launched in Al-Jouf Region on Sunday, to be followed by workshops in all regions of the Kingdom.

The study uses both qualitative and quantitative approaches through 13 workshops across the Kingdom. Participants include representatives from regional governorates and councils, relevant government departments, the private and civil sectors, and citizens interested in social affairs. Prof. Dr. Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al-Nassar, Director General of the Center, explained that the study aims to identify social issues, needs and negative phenomena and the factors behind them. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al-Khalifah, General Supervisor of Research Enablement and Consulting at the Center, stated that expected outcomes include identifying needs, problems, issues and negative phenomena in each region and providing decision-makers with information needed to formulate preventive and remedial policies and intervention programs.
