Workshop: Classification of Research Centers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Date
The Coordinating Council for Social Research Centers organized a workshop entitled "Classification of Research Centers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" on Sunday, 13 July 2025.
The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Badr Al-Hajhouj, Executive Director of the King Salman Center for Disability Research, with the participation of a group of specialists and entities concerned with scientific and social research in the Kingdom. The workshop forms part of the Council's efforts to achieve one of its objectives set out in paragraph ten of Article Two of its bylaws by establishing clear classification criteria for research centers. These criteria enable performance evaluation according to indicators such as activity volume, budget, organizational reference, level of leadership representation and quality of research outputs. The workshop aims to improve research efficiency, strengthen transparency and governance, standardize institutional evaluation criteria, and support a knowledge environment that serves national and social issues. It is one of a series of scientific meetings organized by the Council to strengthen integration among research and social entities in the Kingdom.
