National Center for Social Studies and Research Organizes Dialogue Workshop on 'The Digital World and Its Impact on the Family: Reality and Solutions'

The National Center for Social Studies and Research organized an enrichment dialogue workshop entitled "The Digital World and Its Impact on the Family: Reality and Solutions," with the participation of specialists and researchers in sociology, mental health and digital transformation. The workshop discussed the rapid changes taking place in the digital world and their direct impact on Saudi families, in addition to reviewing the most prominent challenges families face amid accelerating technological development.
Speakers addressed the impact of the digital world on family cohesion and the ways modern technologies have reshaped communication patterns within the family. The workshop also discussed the impact of digital culture on social identity and the resulting changes in values and behavior, as well as mental-health aspects of the digital age and related challenges such as digital addiction, anxiety and social isolation. It also explored the future of the family in light of digital challenges and ways to strengthen families' ability to adapt to rapid change.
The workshop forms part of the Center's efforts to raise community awareness of current social issues and support decision-making by providing scientific insights that contribute to the development of relevant policies and programs. It also reflects the Center's commitment to monitoring digital transformations and their impact on families and society.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the Center stressed the importance of promoting informed digital culture within families in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and its social-development objectives.
