King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs through the National Center for Social Studies and Research, is organizing a workshop in Riyadh on “Sustainability in Social Development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” in light of the joint cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Social Affairs and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.
The workshop targets experts in social development, stakeholders, decision-makers, and beneficiaries of specialists in a number of governmental, charitable and private agencies, such as Saudi universities, charitable societies, the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Housing, the Ministry of Health, the King Salman Center for Disability Research and others.
A group of local and international experts will also participate in the workshop to present the best practices applied by the international community to ensure the advancement of social sustainability. and possible measures to meet the current social challenges in the Kingdom.
The organization of the workshop comes with the aim of coordinating efforts to achieve sustainability in social development, by identifying the existing gaps, how to confront them, and the mechanism of action to solve them. The workshop will address a number of issues related to social challenges, the most important of which are poverty, unemployment, disability, the elderly, housing and orphans.
It is noteworthy that the workshop will be held next Wednesday, corresponding to 4/11/1436 AH, at the headquarters of the City of Science and Technology in Riyadh. It will address seven main topics, including: the positive effects of applying the sustainability approach to social development, the obstacles to sustainability in social development in the Kingdom, and finding ways to facilitate solutions and intervening methods for them.
